Engineering Management: Direct our design engineering by formulating department structure, processes and equipment. Responsible for team development, from selection to disciplinary action. Insure our products are acceptable for the intended application. New product development: Proactive involvement in our product steering team and in planning and execution of our product development initiatives. Design Engineering: As the leader of this key department, currently 14 team members, a portion of your time will be hands on, doing application engineering, product development along with research and development. Requirements: Passion for engineering, product development, and engineering excellence Demonstrated skills in managing and developing a high performance engineering team Successful management of conflicting priorities Focused on customer and business development Demonstrated ability to use cross-functional teams to plan product development initiatives and reduce new product launch cycle times Actively develops interdepartmental teamwork and processes Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient with Microsoft office suite Computer aided drafting. Solid Works and AutoCAD are preferred Proficient in machine component design and analysis ANSI drafting standards including geometric tolerancing Strong understanding and ability to use ERP-MRP programs to facilitate engineering processes, new item release, ECO, ECR etc Bill of material development and control Familiarity with manufacturing processes: Turning, Milling, Welding Quality systems: ISO etc Ability to travel to customer sites and trade shows BS in Engineering with 10 years experience of which 5 were managing an engineering department Desired experience: Seal design Able to interpret hydraulic schematics and trouble shoot hydraulic circuits Welding procedures and specifications Castings Finite Element Analysis Proficient with gear design and manufacturing Lean manufacturing, Lean enterprise Design for assembly and manufacture Failure Modes and Effect analysis Hydraulic components, systems and schematics Heat treating, and material specifications Supply Chain Management Experience in the design of mobile, mining or construction equipment Patent applications Bill of Material development and control
